About
Cory Owens-Batty, LICSW, 500-Hour RYT
Telehealth therapy offers a convenient and flexible way to access counseling services from the comfort of your own space. As a licensed independent social worker with over 20 years of experience, I am dedicated to providing professional and compassionate therapy for individuals and adults. I strive to create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions, and work towards positive change.

My professional journey has always involved helping people. From working in a child care center as an adolescent to obtaining my Bachelor's degree, or from working with adolescents in state systems to becoming a mom, or as a yoga teacher to friends and strangers, everything I have done has involved using who I am to lessen the burdens of others.
Today, my over 20+ years of experience with systems and individuals helps me to provide holistic therapy and parent coaching. I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults and specialize in symptoms of depression, anxiety, neurodivergence, personality and mood disorders, LGBTQIA+ and gender identity concerns, parenting, and trauma. I am also able to use my extensive training as a yoga teacher to pair the mind with the body through mindfulness and physical practice, when it matches the client.

As an individual, I am a weird juxtaposition between geeky and hippy. I value time with my family, SciFi and fantasy fandoms, being on my yoga mat, and being outside in nature. I love dogs, Halloween, going to the theater, and personal growth. I am a mom to one and bonus mom to three young adults who are either neurodivergent, queer, or both. My interest in mental health comes from both my personal and professional experience and I look forward to helping you on your own mental health journey.
Experience
Professional Journey
My journey in the field of social work and holistic health has been incredibly rewarding. Each step has contributed to my growth as a therapist and to the quality of care I provide to my clients. In addition to being a licensed therapist, I am also a licensed school social worker as well as a 500-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. I use concepts of CBT and DBT and believe that working on our whole self is where balance lies.
